Startup Battlefield 200 applications close May 27
Startup Battlefield 200 applications close May 27, offering selected early-stage startups global exposure and a chance at $100,000 in equity-free funding.
The application window for the Startup Battlefield 200 is officially closing on May 27. Organized by the technology news publication TechCrunch, the competition is open globally across all industries, aiming to select 200 promising early-stage companies. Startups selected for the cohort will have the opportunity to compete for $100,000 in equity-free funding, which is funding provided without taking an ownership stake in the company.
Most of the selected companies are pre-Series A, which represents the early stage of startup funding before a company raises its first major venture capital round. However, select Series A startups may also qualify to participate on a case-by-case basis, allowing these companies to enter the selection process.
The chosen 200 startups will showcase their businesses at Disrupt 2026, a technology conference hosted by TechCrunch. The event runs for 3 days and is expected to attract 10,000+ attendees, including venture capitalists and global media. Out of the 200 participating startups, 20 finalists will be selected to pitch live on the main stage, with one startup ultimately winning the equity-free prize.
To apply for the Startup Battlefield 200, early-stage companies should meet the following criteria:
- A functional minimum viable product (MVP)
- A clear product demo
- Strong market potential
- Founders who demonstrate vision, execution, and real traction
Selected startups receive a package designed to increase their visibility and access to capital, which includes:
- Global exposure across TechCrunch channels
- A free exhibit table for all 3 days of the Disrupt 2026 conference
- Four all-access passes to the event and a featured startup profile in the event app
- Access to the press list and lead-generation opportunities
- Exclusive masterclasses designed for founders
- Direct feedback from venture capitalists and the opportunity to pitch live on the Disrupt stage
- A shot at the $100,000 equity-free funding prize
Why it matters
The Startup Battlefield 200 provides early-stage founders with a high-visibility platform to secure global exposure, direct venture capital feedback, and non-dilutive capital. The competition offers a structured opportunity for pre-Series A companies to showcase their products to a broad audience of investors and media.
