Berlin-based startup Peec AI has crossed $10 million in annualized revenue, or annualized recurring revenue (ARR), according to internal dashboard data. The milestone follows a $21 million Series A funding round raised six months ago. At the time of the raise, CEO Marius Meiners did not disclose the startup’s exact valuation, though he stated it was above $100 million. Meiners also noted that the company had grown its revenue to more than $4 million in the 10 months since its launch. This means the company has more than doubled its revenue trajectory at a faster pace.

This growth reflects a broader transition within the tech ecosystem in Europe. Christoph Klink, a partner at the venture capital firm Antler, noted that the current market cycle has forced a cultural shift. Compared to six years ago, success is now defined by growth rather than valuation. “Founders these days track revenue much more closely,” Klink said. He noted that investors now recognize that revenue cannot be an afterthought, leading startups to maintain active dashboards to monitor their progress. This focus on growth sets the culture for early-stage companies, prompting some founders to share revenue trackers with their entire workforce. For Meiners, a former esports athlete, sharing these metrics internally is a way to foster a competitive, winning team culture.

Peec AI operates in the emerging field of generative engine optimization (GEO), providing tools that help brands track and improve their visibility in artificial intelligence searches. The software functions similarly to traditional search engine optimization dashboards, allowing companies to see if they appear when users enter specific prompts into AI platforms. While the company is based in Berlin, it recently expanded its footprint by opening an office in New York. To build its team in Berlin’s competitive talent market, the startup utilized physical billboards placed near other tech companies to attract applicants and signal its growth-focused culture. While this aggressive billboard strategy is common among startups in the Bay Area, it remains rare in Europe. This signaling is part of a broader strategy to position the company as an attractive destination for talent in the AI search sector, a trend that applies to other Antler portfolio companies like Lovable.

Why it matters

Peec AI’s revenue milestone serves as proof of a key market shift in Europe’s tech scene, where success is now defined by growth rather than valuation. As investors move away from the valuation-heavy metrics of previous cycles, sustainable revenue growth has become the primary indicator of startup viability.
