Netflix is expanding its refreshed mobile experience to additional markets across the Asia-Pacific region, while also growing its gaming footprint through the continued rollout of its children’s gaming hub. The mobile expansion follows the initial rollout of the updated mobile experience earlier this year in Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, India, and Malaysia. As part of the next phase of this regional expansion, Netflix plans to launch the updated mobile experience in South Korea and Japan in July, with further markets in the Asia-Pacific region expected to follow.

A key component of the mobile redesign is “Clips,” which is a vertical video feed feature for short-form content. The feature allows users to browse bite-sized content from across the platform’s library, offering quick entertainment for viewers who may not have the time to commit to a full episode or movie. Netflix plans to test themed Clip collections to organize these short videos around specific moods, genres, and interests. These curated collections could feature everything from reality television moments to behind-the-scenes footage and podcast highlights.

Beyond its core streaming interface, the company is expanding Netflix Playground, its children’s gaming hub. Netflix Playground first rolled out in April across markets including the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., signaling the company’s intention to scale the gaming hub globally. The latest expansion of the hub focuses on “KPop Demon Hunters,” an animated musical title. The new integration will launch with six mini-games, allowing fans to interact directly with characters and story elements from the film. The release is likely looking to capitalize on viewer interest, as “KPop Demon Hunters” generated 518 million views in its first six months.
