Meta appoints Dina Powell McCormick as president and vice chairman
Meta has appointed former Trump advisor Dina Powell McCormick as president and vice chairman to help guide the company's strategy and execution.
Meta announced on Monday that it has appointed Dina Powell McCormick as president and vice chairman of the company. In this executive leadership role, Powell McCormick will join Meta’s management team. According to the company’s announcement, she will help guide Meta’s overall strategy and execution as the company enters its next phase of growth.
Powell McCormick’s career spans both global finance and high-level government service. She spent 16 years at Goldman Sachs, where she served as a partner in senior leadership roles. In the public sector, she previously served under Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice during the George W. Bush administration. She also served as deputy national security advisor to President Donald Trump.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg highlighted her background in global finance and global affairs. “Dina’s experience at the highest levels of global finance, combined with her deep relationships around the world, makes her uniquely suited to help Meta manage this next phase of growth as the company’s President and Vice Chairman,” Zuckerberg said in a blog post. Former President Donald Trump also publicly praised the appointment on Truth Social, calling Powell McCormick a fantastic and very talented person who served his administration with strength and distinction, and describing the appointment as a great choice by Zuckerberg.
The appointment of Powell McCormick follows another recent executive hire by Meta. Last week, the company hired Curtis Joseph Mahoney, a former Microsoft legal executive. Mahoney also has experience in government relations, having previously served as a deputy U.S. trade representative during Trump’s first term.
